Kirchner Farm Museum

The Kirchner Farm Museum is located by Jacob Kirchner Park on M27 at the western edge of Peterson, Iowa.

This 60 by 100 foot museum is filled with horse-drawn farm equipment and machines of years ago. Included is a century -old sheepherder's wagon, the mobile home of the high plains. It provides a fascinating glimpse into the past.

The construction of the museum was realized through the joint efforts of the late Jacob Kirchner and Peterson Heritage, Inc.  Mr. Kirchner initiated and financed the erection of the building and Heritage installed the concrete floor, sewer and water lines, electric lighting and installation of the restrooms.  The late George Reed of Peterson did the collection and restoration of most of the equipment.  Many other donations have been received and are a part of this museum.
